NC Circles allow associates to have a voice in how their work is done. By participating on an NC Circle, associates learn the basic problem solving and decision making techniques used throughout Honda. Finally, SPS places a high value on your involvement! Significant rewards (both tangible and intangible) and recognition are possible upon completion of an NC Circle! Tangible benefits include an increased knowledge of quality tools, increased public speaking, computer skills, teamwork and presentation skills and an increased knowledge of the associates, processes and systems that make up SPS! Intangible benefits include personal growth and satisfaction, career growth potential, camaraderie in working as part of a team and the knowledge you are helping to make SPS a more competative and better place to work! |

An NC Circle is a small group of associates (three to five is recommended) working as a team to solve a common problem, or implement an improvement in their work area using a 17 step process and basic analysis & planning tools. The team will choose a theme, analyze the situation, implement changes and share their success with leadership and their fellow associates. The team follows a pre-defined set of steps and documents the circle in a 20 minute PowerPoint presentation. The team then presents the completed project or problem circle activity in an internal competition to senior management, peers and judges. The teams' presentations are scored according to how well they followed the circle process, not how much money they saved the company, although that is good too!! |
|
In addition to all of the tangible and intangible rewards of completing a circle, there are other benefits as well! The two top teams go on to compete externally with other companies!
